The Malta Federation of Professional Associations (MFPA) is pleased to have had the opportunity to respond to a Consultation regarding the Green Paper – Modernising the Professional Qualifications Directive. MFPA Vice President honoured at Gala Dinner – 15/06/2012
During a recent visit by the European Council of Liberal Professions (CEPLIS), past president and actual Vice President of the Malta Federation of Professional Associations, Mr. Benjamin Rizzo was one of ten persons honoured during a Gala Dinner, for their visionary spirit and dedicated work, in the support of the development of the liberal professions within the EU. Mr. Rizzo was instrumental in getting the Malta Federation affiliated to CEPLIS and is a long standing, active member of the CEPLIS council. MFPA HOSTS EUROPEAN COUNCIL OF LIBERAL PROFESSIONS – 15/06/2012
The Malta Federation of Professional Associations recently hosted a visit by The European Council of Liberal Professions (CEPLIS), during which a seminar on the Professional Qualifications Directive was organised. The seminar was attended by forty members representing local professional organisations, civil society, various authorities, as well as members of the CEPLIS delegation. The keynote speaker was Ms Shirley Micallef, Mutual Recognition Coordinator, Malta Qualifications Council, who discussed the local perspective on the Professional Qualifications Directive. Benjamin Rizzo, vice president of the Malta Federation of Professional Associations (MFPA) has been elected president of the Civil Society Committee within the Malta Council for Economic and Social Development. This is the first time that civil society is being represented directly within this forum, following legislation recently brought into force.
