Association of Speech-Language Pathologists

The ASLP, founded in 1985, is a recognised professional association of Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) in Malta. It is the only professional body, which brings together qualified SLPs in Malta and students studying to qualify in the field of Communication Therapy. The Association provides a forum for members to meet, share knowledge and develop professionally. It is a vehicle through which professional views can be disseminated to other organisations and public institutions. ASLP also creates opportunities to raise public awareness regarding Speech-Language Pathology. It was set up with four main aims which are still valid today:

  • Safeguarding the profession
  • Safeguarding the professional code of ethics
  • Keeping up with standards and current developments
  • Creating public awareness
