Election of Civil Society representatives on MEUSAC Core Group

Nominations received for the three posts were the following:

Eur. Ing. Kenneth Abela nominated by Enemalta Professional Officers Union
Ms. Grace Attard nominated by the National Council of Women
Ms. Anna Borg nominated by the Malta Confederation of Women’s Organisations
Mr. Christopher Cutajar nominated by Żminijietna
Mr. Joseph Depasquale Schranz nominated by the Malta Basketball Association
Mr. Neville Mercieca nominated by the Malta Police Association
Mr. Benjamin Rizzo nominated by the Malta Federation of Professional Associations
Mr. Gino Schiavone nominated by the Malta Exercise Health and Fitness Association
Mr. Julian Zarb nominated by the Malta Tourism Society

The wish of the Core Group was to have as much varied representation as possible.

Mr. Kenneth Abela, Mr. Benjamin Rizzo and Mr. Neville Mercieca were considered to be representing professional interests.
Mr. Joseph Depasquale Schranz and Mr. Gino Schiavone were considered as representing the sports and recreational sector.
Mr. Julian Zarb was considered to be representing the tourism sector.
Ms. Grace Attard and Ms. Anna Borg were considered to be representing groupings that had gender issues as their main characteristic.
Mr. Christopher Cutajar was considered as representing the social and political sectors.
